- Synopsis: "The Battle of Cuito Cuanavale has been a source of fierce contestation and emotion for decades, but up to now little was known about the Recces' presence and impact during this controversial battle. In [this book], award-winning author Alexander Strachan, himself an ex-Recce, reveals the extent of the Recces' involvement in the fighting around Cuito. Wearing the enemy's uniform and carrying his weapons, members of this deadly specialist unit succeeded in remaining invisible for months while deployed at strategic locations between the South African and enemy forces. In this final book in his nail-biting trilogy about 1 Reece, Strachan takes the reader along on night-time seaward operations into the heart of Luanda, through swamps in Mozambique and ultimately into the final battle of the Border War."--Page [4] of cover.
